CRM alternatives
HubSpot alternatives for teams that need a different fit
Explore HubSpot alternatives by use case, including when Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, or a customizable CRM like SchemaDesk is the better choice.

We built SchemaDesk. These guides are our honest take on the CRM category, including where we are not the right fit.
Why teams look beyond HubSpot
HubSpot is a strong product. Teams still leave, or never buy, for clear reasons: rising seat and hub costs, product surface area they will not use, or a data model that does not match how they sell.
A good HubSpot alternative is not "anything cheaper." It is a tool that fits your process with less waste. SchemaDesk is especially relevant when the blocker is rigid objects and fields rather than missing marketing features.
HubSpot custom objects require Enterprise
Custom objects need an Enterprise subscription on Marketing, Sales, Service, Data, Content, Smart CRM, or Revenue hubs (HubSpot docs).
On the Customer Platform Enterprise pricing page, HubSpot lists up to 10 custom object definitions, 1,000,000 custom object records, and 50 custom object pipelines (suite Enterprise).
A Custom Objects Limit Increase add-on is listed at $500/month for 10 more objects and 1 million more records (add-ons catalog).
Sales Hub Enterprise is listed at $150/month per seat in the Products and Services catalog (catalog).
Those figures are vendor-published, not SchemaDesk estimates. They change; re-check before decisions.
When the data model is the only reason to leave
Paying Enterprise only to unlock a few custom objects is the failure mode this section targets. Stay on HubSpot if Marketing Hub, Service Hub, or the broader ecosystem already justifies Enterprise. If the blocker is the object model, compare cited limits on the CRM limits comparison.
SchemaDesk as a custom-objects alternative
SchemaDesk is a customizable CRM for teams that need to bring their own data model. There are no limits on objects, fields, and records on Free and on Pro, and no fair-use ceiling. Import CSV or Excel into any object (mapping uses existing custom fields; import creates no new fields or objects during the import). Export any list to CSV. Whole-workspace export is coming soon. API keys and webhooks are included for every team until April 2027; from April 2027 they stay on Pro.
Each person can hide, reorder, and group their sidebar into named sections. Objects can be renamed and given an icon from a set of 30. Home dashboard widgets cover numbers, record lists, and bar, pie, or line charts from any object, with grouping, date ranges, and filters. Widgets can be personal, or pinned for everyone by admins.
That specialty covers the data model only, not unlimited automations or workspaces. Until April 2027 every team gets full Pro features free (including automations and API). From April 2027, Free forever is up to 2 people and 1 workspace with 30-day history (no automations, no API); Pro keeps up to 3 workspaces per person, full history, roles and permissions, priority support.
Until April 2027, every team gets full Pro features free. Unlimited people, up to 3 workspaces per person, automations, API keys and webhooks, full history, roles and permissions, plus unlimited objects, fields, and records. In April 2027, choose Pro or move to Free forever. Billing starts in April 2027 for everyone, no matter when they joined. Teams with no plan chosen move automatically to Free forever. SchemaDesk sends notices 30, 7, and 1 day before. No data is deleted. From then, Free forever is up to 2 people and 1 workspace (unlimited objects, fields, and records; no automations; no API; 30-day history), and Pro is 10 EUR per seat per month. Anyone who joins before April 2027 can lock 5 EUR per seat per month for life while subscribed, as long as they start paying by 30 April 2027.

Alternative map by buyer need
Start from the job you are hiring the CRM to do. Marketing-suite depth, enterprise governance, and pure sales pipeline each point to different vendors.
- Need enterprise depth and ecosystem: evaluate Salesforce.
- Need sales-first pipeline simplicity: evaluate Pipedrive.
- Need suite value across many apps: evaluate Zoho.
- Need flexible objects, fields, and relations: evaluate SchemaDesk.
HubSpot vs common alternatives
This is a directional map. Always pilot with your real pipeline stages and reporting requirements.
| If you need | Stronger alternative | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Enterprise process depth | Salesforce | Deeper admin model and partner ecosystem |
| Deal-centric sales focus | Pipedrive | Less suite sprawl, clearer pipeline habits |
| Broad app value | Zoho CRM | Often stronger packaging across business apps |
| Customizable data model | SchemaDesk | Objects and relations designed around your business |
| Keep HubSpot anyway | HubSpot | When marketing + CRM alignment is the winning requirement |
When HubSpot still wins
Stay with HubSpot if inbound marketing, content, and CRM timelines are inseparable for your go-to-market motion, and your team already adopts HubSpot workflows well.
Switching away to save a little money while keeping the same marketing requirements can create a more expensive integration patchwork.
Switching checklist
Export contacts, companies, deals, and key engagement history. Rebuild lifecycle stages before import. Retrain on ownership rules in the first two weeks. Measure whether weekly pipeline meetings get quieter, not whether every feature was remapped.
SchemaDesk can be the landing place when you want CRM fundamentals with a schema you control, without reconstructing a full HubSpot-shaped suite.
FAQ
What is the best HubSpot alternative?
There is no single best alternative. Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, and customizable CRMs each win for different constraints. Rank your top three must-have workflows first.
Is HubSpot too expensive for small teams?
It can be, once seats and hubs expand. Some small teams still prefer HubSpot for speed and polish. Others do better with a narrower CRM and separate marketing tools.
Is SchemaDesk a HubSpot alternative?
Yes for buyers who need a customizable CRM with flexible objects and relations. It is not a clone of every HubSpot hub. Compare against your process needs, not a feature billboard.
How hard is it to leave HubSpot?
Data export is usually manageable. The hard part is rebuilding automations, reporting habits, and team routines. Plan change management as carefully as field mapping.
How many custom objects can a HubSpot Enterprise account have?
HubSpot's Customer Platform Enterprise pricing page lists up to 10 custom object definitions, 1,000,000 total custom object records, and 50 custom object pipelines. An add-on can raise object and record capacity. See https://www.hubspot.com/pricing/suite?term=annual&tier=enterprise and https://legal.hubspot.com/hubspot-product-and-services-catalog/add-ons.
Will migrating from HubSpot be painless?
No migration is painless. Expect exports, field mapping, and rebuild of automations elsewhere. SchemaDesk: import CSV or Excel into any object (mapping uses existing custom fields; import creates no new fields or objects during the import). Export any list to CSV. Whole-workspace export is coming soon. Automations are included for every team until April 2027; from April 2027 they stay on Pro.
